What’s killing the fish on Germany’s border with Poland?

Countless dead fish have been found in canals connected to the Oder in Poland. Are we witnessing a repeat of the catastrophic fish die-off of last summer? The culprit back then was golden algae, which is toxic for freshwater fish.
