US defence chief in Baghdad as Iraqi forces push into Mosul
James Mattis has made his first visit to Baghdad as US defence secretary.
About 1,000 US soldiers are advising and helping Iraqi forces, in the offensive to push ISIL from Mosul.
Iraqi troops have been focusing on recapturing the city’s airport on the second day of the ground offensive.
