Activist Killed In West Bank Anti-Settler Protest, IDF Admits Firing, US Will “Act As Necessary”



An dual US-Turkish citizen was reportedly shot dead by Israeli troops during an anti-settler protest by Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. Both the US State Department and Turkey’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the death of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi. Eygi arrived at the Rafidia hospital in Nablus “with a gunshot in the head”, hospital director Fouad Nafaa told news agency AFP. The Turkish ministry said she was killed by Israeli soldiers and described the incident as a “murder carried out by the Netanyahu government.” The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) said it is investigating “a claim that a foreign national was killed as a result of shots fired.”
